As part of activities marking the 159th Joint Tax Board (JTB) Meeting, members of the Board, led by the Chairman of the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS), Mr. Ayo Subair, today experienced firsthand the Lagos Blue Line Rail, riding from Marina to Mile 2, a rail system provided by tax payers money.

The delegation applauded the Lagos State Government for its bold investment in modern rail infrastructure, describing the Blue Line as a shining example of a safe, efficient, and affordable transport system that directly improves the quality of life for residents.

Mr. Subair emphasized that the project stands as a powerful testament to the impact of tax compliance, noting that the rail system clearly demonstrates how taxpayers’ contributions are being translated into tangible, people-focused infrastructure.

The Joint Tax Board plays a critical role in harmonizing tax administration across federal and state authorities, driving fiscal coordination and sustainable development nationwide.
