ENGR. AGBONZEGBE OSA KONYEHA

Engr. Agbonzegbe Osa Konyeha holds a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and an M.Sc. in Transport Planning from Imperial College of Science, Technology, and Medicine, UK. With over two decades in the transport industry, Engr. Konyeha is the Technical Adviser and Head of the Planning Department at the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA).

 

Engr. Konyeha began his career as a transport planner/traffic engineer at Collin Buchanan and Partners in London, United Kingdom, specializing in Transport Planning, Traffic Engineering, Traffic Impact Analysis, and Road Safety Engineering.

 

In 2000, he joined Hyder Consulting, UK, as a Senior Transport Planner, advising local authorities and private developers on the impact of various transport schemes and policies. Notable projects executed include the A406 North Circular Road Safety Improvement Scheme, Bond Street Area Highway Rationalization to ease congestion, and the Bromley Town Centre Action Plan model to appraise traffic and transportation interventions assessment of the impact of intelligent transport systems as part of the M25 Integrated Demand Management and development and appraisal of Greenwich Waterfront Transit.

 

In 2012, Engr. Konyeha was the Embedded Transport Adviser at the Nigerian Infrastructure Advisory Facility (NIAF), supporting the Federal Capital Territory Administration’s Transport Secretariat by providing support in the setup of the Transport Authority Unit and assisting with projects like the FCT Rail Mass Transit Project.

 

He joined LAMATA in 2019 as Technical Adviser and Head of the Planning Department and is responsible for developing strategies to address Lagos’ future transport needs, coordinating the implementation of transport schemes, developing major scheme initiatives, and securing investment for the provision of transport infrastructure.

 

Engr. Konyeha is a certified PRINCE2 Project Manager, a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport UK (CIHT), and a corporate member of the Chartered Institution of Highway and Transportation, UK (MIHT).
