Eight suspects apprehended extorting on Yaba pedestrian Bridge

We are aware of a viral video depicting individuals demanding money from pedestrians carrying loads using the pedestrian bridge in Yaba, Lagos State. This behaviour is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
Pedestrian bridges are public infrastructure for safe and free movement. There is absolutely no requirement for any payment to use them.
It is important to note that eight suspects have already been apprehended in connection with this incident.
We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of Lagosians and will not tolerate environmental nuisance or lawlessness of any kind.
We urge the public to remain calm as we continue to take action. We are dedicated to creating a safer Lagos State for all.
