The 5th Lagos Economic Summit has held in Lagos. Transportation featured prominently at the summit which attracted experts from both Nigeria and abroad. Managing Director of the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola spoke on “Transportation (Road, Rail, Water, Air): Infrastructure, Institutions, and Operations.” He highlighted the challenges of the Lagos transportation system and efforts by the government to revamp the sector through adopting a tripartite intermodal approach involving high capacity buses, water transportation and rail system.
All three modes presents significant opportunities for would be investors.
Panelists at the transportation section of the summit include Mr. Samuel Zimmerman, a former staff of the World Bank now consulting for the bank, Mr. Opuiyo Oforiokuma, Managing Director, Lekki Concession Company and Mr. Uyi Giwa –Osagie  - Managing Director, Metro Ferry Services.
