The Lagos
Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, LAMATA, is governed by a
Board of Directors inaugurated by the State Governor, Asiwaju
Bola Ahmed Tinubu on December 10, 2003.
The Board is
composed of Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, Alh. Bashiru Atanda Dania, Chief
J.B. Oke, Engr. M.O Oseni (all part-time) and Dr Dayo Mobereola
- Managing Director/CEO (full-time). Other part-time members of
the Board include representatives of 4 Ministries -
Transportation, Works and Infrastructure; Finance; and Economic
Planning and Budget.
The Board is to
provide corporate and strategic policy directions in a
commercial manner to achieve and sustain cost effective
management and improvement of the transport system of
metropolitan Lagos. It will ensure that LAMATA has time-based
policies with clearly-stated goals, objectives and targets, and
monitor and appraise management performance against these
targets. |
